Elegant Laura Ashley wallpaper, handmade silk curtains, velvet cushions, calm watercolours. A wardrobe and antique pine chests offer plenty of room for clothes, and there’s a Samsung flat-screen TV with Freeview and digital radio - plus your own fridge

From the sash window your view changes with the seasons. In winter you look across pretty gardens and rooftops towards Nunney Castle and the church. In spring, the cherry tree may be covered in white blossom, and in summer you glimpse the walled vegetable garden where Rosie picks herbs and produce for the kitchen

Polly’s Room also has its own luxurious en-suite bathroom, with over-bath digital power shower and thermostatic bath filler. A generous towel radiator holds your fresh white bath sheets. The colours of travertine and maple bring visual warmth, and Cabaret mirror lights add a glamorous touch

Finally, Polly’s Room comes with its own lovely Sitting Room, where you can have a log fire in winter, a Smart TV and all the space you need for a really relaxing time

The Quintessential Rural English B&B Experience

My wife and I had a wonderful 4-night stay with Rosie and Bill and their beautiful home in Nunney. Having stayed at B&Bs from Caithness to Cornwall, we've had some great stays but Penny's Mill really is something special.

The location is perfect. Nunney really is a chocolate-box Somerset village that is wonderful to wander around and explore. We visited Longleat, Frome, Wells, Mells and Cheddar from our base in Nunney and they were all easily reachable with just short drives.

Rosie and Bill's home is delightfully charming and we felt thoroughly spoiled the whole time we were there. It's more of a traditional-style B&B in that you feel very much welcomed into someone's home rather than a purpose-built guest house. But we also felt that we had plenty of privacy and flexibility to come and go as we pleased. We very much enjoyed their wonderful garden and outside seating areas as well as their very well-behaved and friendly cats!

Our room was spacious and every detail had been thoughtfully taken care of. Despite their house being very traditional, the bathroom was extremely modern with a lovely, powerful shower!

Breakfast was always a delight. Simple, but wholesome and delicious. Rosie's homemade bread and jams are a real treat!

Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Penny's Mill to anyone looking for a charming break in the lovely Somerset countryside. Haitham, June 2022
